Our Story

In the red soils of Gatanga, beneath the watchful skies of Kenya’s central highlands, a young boy once followed his father through rows of coffee trees. The air was sweet with ripening cherries and morning dew. His father, Simon Ikahu, taught him how to listen to the rhythm of the land, to the whispers of leaves in the wind, and to the patient language of coffee. From those early days, the love for farming and the pursuit of excellence were etched into Anthony’s hands and heart. 
 
Years later, that same boy would return to the very soil where his story began. With the memory of his father guiding him, Anthony rebuilt the family farm, turning quiet fields into vibrant life once again. What began as a legacy has become a calling — to craft coffee that speaks of heritage, care and connection. 
 
Today, Anthony’s story stretches beyond the highlands of Kenya to the shores of Australia — a place his family now calls home after spending many years in Africa. With his Australian wife and their two sons, who are fluent in both Kenyan warmth and Australian ease, he nurtures not just coffee trees, but a new generation of cultural storytellers. Just as his father taught him the art of growing coffee, Anthony hopes to pass on this same reverence for land, craft and legacy to his boys. 

Ikahu Reserve is born from this union — of past and future, soil and soul, Kenya and Australia. Every bean is a meeting point of worlds: the high-altitude richness of Central Kenya and the refined coffee culture of Australia. It is coffee crafted by hand and guided by heart — a tribute to legacy, to family and to the beauty of two cultures brewed together.
